I can't stop saying Y'all

Last week we had some visitors from way down South come and stay at the Jeanquart Ranch.  My cousin Heather (her grandfather and my grandmother were siblings..2nd cousins?  3rd? we couldn't decide) and her husband, son and daughter flew in from South Carolina to take in all the beauty of a Wisconsin summer.  Remember how hot and sunny it was last week?  Yeah, me either.

We went to Door county on Tuesday... it was 59.  I kept telling them that it gets really hot in the summer and that this temperature was unusual. Pretty sure they didn't believe me.

But as they say, what can you do??  When in Rome, we bought some Leinenkugel, and Miller Lite and took in all the sights of the giant metropolis of Green Bay...
Lambeau Field, Bay Beach, N.E.W. Zoo, Wednesday Farmer's market, Casino, Cheese Factory and Door Cty.  By the way,  the Lambeau Field tour was amazing.  I thought I pretty much knew that stadium inside and out but I learned a few things along the way.  I saw where my .5 sales tax has been going.  It's good to know it's being spent well.

When our time together was up, the South Carolina kin said they would love to come back.  I guess the weather couldn't have been that bad. Y'all come back now, ya hear?

Boob Tube Happiness

As if you didn't know,  TV makes me happy!  Here are some of my fave choices on the boob tube right now....

Bravo TV~  This channel has reality shows down to a science!  I can't get enough of the Housewives and my new obsessions, Southern Charm & Mother Funders.  The "real" people on these shows never fail to make me feel so smart that I live in the Midwest. If I had to put on a face full of makeup and have my hair perfectly done just to pick up my kids, I would never leave the house.  Hello homeschooling.  And another thing, Heather Dubrow of Orange County, kicking a skank out of your 17 million dollar house because she ate a piece of the bow frosting off your cake for your name changing  EVENT is not a real problem.  Just so we are clear!  Programming note, Secrets and Wives is on a marathon this weekend...guess what I am doing?

The Price is Right~  What is it about Drew Carey that makes me want to snuggle up with him and talk about the prices of laundry detergent and pickles?  I get so emotionally attached to the contestants and can't wait to see who wins the showcase!  I really believe Drew when he says "Have a great day!  So nice to meet you!"  Like, if any of those people bumped into him out side of the studio he would totally remember them and have a chat about how they spun the wheel.  He is the BEST!

Heinz mustard commercial ~  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0gIq9fDSEI
This commercial always makes me LOL every time the mustard squirts out of the top! I LOOOOVEE that the old mustard has leopard pants, boots and bright red lipstick on.... like she is really edgy and not the kind of girl ketchup would settle down with.  High-larious!  I have to believe there was a team of chicks that came up with that ad.  The attention to detail is fantastic!

What are your favorites??  Happy Friday everyone!

RIP Dick Van Patten

I was so sad to hear about Dick Van Patten's passing yesterday.  I grew up watching him on  "8 is Enough" and "Spaceballs".  I always thought he was so sweet,  so funny, and so willing to understand his 8 kids.  Little did I know, I would get the chance to meet this Hollywood icon.

Tiffany and I went on an adventure about 10 years ago on VH1's dime.  It was a reality show called "Lost Idols" that started in Las Vegas and ended on a pier in Huntington Beach.  Our task was to find Willie Aames (hottie Tommy Bradford) before the other team of 2 we were racing did.  Somewhere along the way, one of our clues was none other than Mr. Dick Van Patten!  We walked into the lounge of a Hollywood hotel and there he was in all his Mr. Bradford glory!  He was EXACTLY the way I thought he would be.  He had a kind face, sparkly eyes, nice suit, firm handshake, and had some cologne on with just the right amount of spicy and sweet.   Mr. Bradford was literally standing in front of us asking us all kinds of questions and being interested in the Tundra Twins!   He was so sincere and genuinely a nice guy.  We were able to spend about 15 minutes chatting with him and soaking in the superstar that Dick Van Patten was.  When our time was up, he gave us both a big hug and said "Good luck girls!!"  I will always cherish my short, sweet time with the class act that was Dick Van Patten.

You didn't think I would stop there and not tell you how it ended, did you??  Part of the task we had was answering 80's trivia questions.  Anyone that knows me and Tiffany, knows we are trivia geeks and can tell you pretty much anything you need to know about all things 80's.  It's a gift.  Needless to say, WE WON!  We found Willie on a pier in Huntington Beach and got to hang out with him the rest of the day.  We asked him all about Dick and he said "He was the most generous man I ever met.  He would bend over backwards for any of us "kids".  He went on to say,   "I had a stalker after me that somehow got the number on the set of 8 is Enough. I told Dick how scared I was.  When he found out the psycho was on the phone he grabbed it and yelled all kinds of expletives at the guy and told him to leave me alone. I was never bothered again!"  Just the way you would think Mr. Bradford would have handled it, right?  We love you Dick Van Patten!!

It was a great adventure with many fun stories and celebrities along the way.  Unfortunately the episode we taped was just a pilot and VH1 chose to pass on "Lost Idols".  Whatever...  You could've had the Tundra Twins dummies!!!

RIP Dick Van Patten.  The world just got a little dimmer without your sparkly eyes.

Follow up on Disney shows

Yes I do agree about the TV situation and what the kids watch just like Tina. Although I have a separate problem here because I have boys. First of all, Drake and Josh can kiss my ass. Fat skinny fat skinny! I can't keep up'
Although Henry Danger is not too annoying because Captain Man is is kind of a hottie. Is this what my life has come to? Magic Mike no idea if he's hot or not - but Captain Man yes.

Laugh Tracks

With summer vacation in full swing, my children have been on a steady diet of Disney Channel and Nickelodeon.  Sooooooo many questions...who are these people on the laugh tracks?  Do they really laugh like that?  Do the kids on these shows really think their corny jokes are funny?
I swear, there has to be an acting coach teaching these "actors" how to be the most annoying kids possible!  Where are the parents of these actors?!  Intervene please!  My skin crawls when Sam and Cat, Austin and Ally, and Dog with a Blog comes on!!!  It's like nails on chalkboard!  Dear Disney & Nickelodeon, PLEASE for the love of God, produce better shows!  Take some notes from your friends at Pixar!
And I get it, I could make them turn off the TV and do something else.  But then how the hell am I suppose to have time to check my Instagram or text my sister about how much I hate Matt Lauer's smug face? duh
I am going to have to go old school and make lists of chores before the TV gets turned on.  Wham, bam laundry is folded, dishwasher is emptied, and beds are made.  Maybe, just maybe, we can make our own laugh track this summer and get the house clean all at the same time.  I'm so smart.
Have a great day beauties

Twins Separated!

What is up?!  Nice to meet you!  I am Tina, identical twin sister to Tiffany that dared to move 800 miles away from me and took a little of my sanity along with her.  We thought it would be fun to do a blog together so you all will be privileged to see how hilarious we are.  You are welcome.
